When it is difficult
to feel at ease.
You may keep going through the day while feeling tense, worried, or unable to switch off. Even when things appear to be going well, part of you may be waiting for something to go wrong.
Making room for your particular experience
Stress and anxiety do not feel the same for everyone. For you, they may involve constant second-guessing, pressure to get things right, fear of disappointing someone, or difficulty resting without guilt.
We can begin with what happens in your life rather than assuming a single explanation. When does the worry intensify? What feels at stake? Are there feelings you find harder to acknowledge than anxiety itself?
Looking beyond the immediate pressure
Present demands matter: work, caregiving, relationships, money, illness, and uncertainty can all occupy your attention. We can also consider the expectations you carry into those situations, including expectations of yourself.
You may feel responsible for preventing every problem or believe you must hide uncertainty to be accepted. Exploring where these pressures come from can help us understand why reassurance or telling yourself to relax does not always bring relief.
Understanding the ways you cope
Planning, avoiding conflict, staying busy, or seeking reassurance can serve important purposes. Sometimes they also narrow your life or leave you caught in another cycle of worry. We can examine both sides with care.
Therapy is a place to speak about distress, consider present needs, and explore patterns over time. It is not a promise that anxiety will disappear or that one approach is right for every concern.
Beginning without having it all worked out
You do not need to know whether your experience fits a particular label before contacting me. We can discuss what has been happening, how it affects your life, and whether working together makes sense.
If your needs call for a different or additional kind of care, that can be part of the conversation too.
